In 2014, long-time yoga instructor, Susannah Sanfilippo created Yoga for your Grieving Heart because she was stunned by the power of her grief when her father unexpectedly passed away in 2012. She found herself emotionally and physically walloped and disconcerted by the lack of empathic support.
Susannah’s mother died in 2017 and yoga practice has been a major healing component of her grieving process.

Susannah is registered with NACYT (National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers), certified by YogaSpirit and is a Yoga Warriors International Instructor, a Y12SR instructor (Yoga for 12-Step Recovery), an OurMala Certificate-Holder and a Laughter Yoga Instructor. She is thrilled to be an affiliated instructor with Sea Change Yoga where she also holds a seat on the Programming Committee.
Along with her training in classical yoga, she has in-depth studies in breathing practices and restorative yoga for relaxation, pain reduction and emotional balance. Her trauma-sensitive, healing-informed teaching style enables students of all experiences to discover the benefits of yoga.
